Apparently, removing the caffeine from tea is quite a harsh process. So the question is: can you have a cup of decaf that still tastes like tea? I am new to this, but my experiences so far are:
Twinings
No. It's a particularly weak and flavourless cup of tea, even when being careful to add only a tiny bit of milk. Not recommended.
Yorkshire Tea
Yes. As long as you brew the bag a bit longer and be careful not to do the milk, Yorkshire Decaf is, in my opinion, indistinguishable from non-decaf. I don't think I could tell the difference on a blind taste test.
I've started using decaf tea to cut my caffeine consumption by around 50%, because I currently have some lingering effects from a virus and sleep is important. I would like to be able to say that my sleep has improved since reducing caffeine, but it hasn't. In fact, I have noticed no differences whatsoever.
Note: I am not sponsored by Yorkshire Tea, but they are welcome to get in touch.
